A fun day for the entire family in Naarden
This daytrip is especially great for families, as it includes a stroll along the Waterkeringpad, as well as having pancakes and visiting Speelpark Oud Valkeveen (amusement park).
Walk along the Waterkeringpad
Speelpark Oud Valkeveen has a large (free) parking lot, so we'd recommend this as a starting point for this daytrip as it is most convenient to reach by either car of bike. From here you can follow Waterkeringpad to the West. The Waterkeringpad runs between Amsterdam Central Station and Huizen. The walk from Oud Valkeveen to Naarden is 3.5 km. The final stage of this walk takes you across the ramparts of Naarden. The path concludes at the splitting of the Amersfoortsestraatweg and the Energiestraat in Naarden. From here you can choose to turnaround and walk back along the Waterkeringpad or first visit the authentic fortified town of Naarden-Vesting.
Visit Speelpark Oud Valkeveen
There are numerous places to have lunch or a coffeebreak in the beautiful old streets of Naarden. Once you've made your way back to Speelpark Old Valkeveen the real fun for kids begins. The park is small but varied with its pedal boats, train, mini rollercoaster and old-timers. Of course there are exciting slides, trampolines and there's even a real pirate ship. For the little ones there is also a ball pit and an indoor climbing paradise.
Conclude with pancakes
After a busy day, you can sit down at the spacious terrace of Pancakes Restaurant 't Vossenhol, located right next to Speelpark Oud Valkeveen. The restaurant is open from 12pm to 7.30pm, from Tuesday to Sunday, between April and September. From October to March they're open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
